The John Deere 5100M is a 2WD or 4WD utility tractor from the 5M series. This tractor has been manufactured by John Deere in Augusta, Georgia, USA since 2012. This first generation was manufactured from 2012 to 2014. The John Deere 5100M is equipped with a 4.5 L (276.0 cu·in) four-cylinder diesel engine and one of three transmissions: a partially synchronized transmission with 12 forward and 4 reverse gears, a power shuttle transmission with 16 forward and 16 reverse gears or a two-speed power shift transmission with 32 forward and 16 reverse gears.

The John Deere 5100M is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, hydraulic wet disc brakes and 113.6 liters (30 US gal.; 25 Imp. gal) fuel tank for the ROPS version or 136.3 liters (36 US gal, 30 Imp. gal) for the cab version.
