The John Deere 70 is a riding lawn mower with small single-cylinder Tecumseh VH70 engine (246 cc, 15.0 cu-in) and belt-driven gear transmission Peerless 1200 with three forward and one reverse gear. The John Deere 70 riding mower was produced from 1970 to 1974.
This riding mower used open operator station, manual steering and mid-mount 34 inches (860 mm) mower deck with manual lift. The John Deere 57 used an air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke Tecumseh VH70 gasoline engine with vertical PTO shaft and electric or recoil starter.
