The John Deere 100 is a two-wheel-drive (2WD) lawn and garden tractor with Briggs & Stratton sigle-cylinder engine and Peerless 1200 gear transmission. The John Deere 100 garden tractor was produced at the John Deere Horicon Works plant (Horicon, Wisconsin, USA) from 1975 to 1978.
The John Deere 100 lawn tractor used the Briggs & Stratton 190707 engine. The Briggs & Stratton 190707 is a 318 cc, (19.4 cu-in) air-cooled 4-stroke internal combustion small gasoline engine with a vertical shaft. Cylinder bore and piston stroke are 76.0 mm (3.00 in) and 70.0 mm (2.75 in), respectively. The Briggs & Stratton 190707 produced 8.0 HP (6.0 kW) at 3,600 rpm.
The John Deere 100 tractor is equipped with the Peerless 1200 belt-driven gear transmission (three forward and one reverse gears) and manual steering. This tractor used open operator station, middle PTO shaft with mechanical idler pulley clutch. The JD 100 was equipped with mid-mount 36 in (860 mm) mower deck.
