The John Deere 4520 is a 4WD compact utility tractor from the 4000 series. This tractor was manufactured by John Deere in Augusta, Georgia, USA from 2005 to 2014. The JD 4520 is equipped with 2.4 L four-cylinder diesel engine and one of two transmissions: power shuttle transmission with 12 forward and 12 reverse gears or hydrostatic transmission with infinite 3-range forward and reverse gears.
The John Deere 4520 compact utility tractor used the John Deere 4042T engine. It is a 2.4 L, 2,440 cm2, (148.9 cu·in) four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with 86.0 mm (3.39 in) of the cylinder bore and 105.0 mm (4.13 in) of the piston stroke. This engine produced 53.9 PS (39.6 kW; 53.0 HP) at 2,400 rpm of output power (2005-2008) and 60.8 PS (44.7 KW; 60.0 HP) at 2,400 rpm (2009-2014).
The John Deere 4520 is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, wet disc brakes, two-post ROPS or Cab with heat and A/C (optional) and 54.9 liters (14.5 US gal, 12.1 Imp. gal) fuel tank for ROPS version and 52.2 liters (13.8 US gal, 11.5 Imp. gal) for Cab version.
