The Allis Chalmers D12 is a 2WD row-crop tractor from the D series. This tractor was manufactured by Allis Chalmers in West Allis, Wisconsin, USA from 1959 to 1968.
The Allis Chalmers D12 is equipped with one of two engines: a 2.3 L (138.7 cu·in) four-cylinder gasoline engine or a 2.4 L (149.0 cu·in) four-cylinder gasoline engine and sliding gear transmission with 4 forward and 1 reverse gear.
The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:
- Allis-Chalmers Power-Crater. It is a 2.3 L, 2,273 cm2, (138.7 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline engine with 86.0 mm (3.39 in) of the cylinder bore and 98.0 mm (3.86 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 7.75:1. This engine produced 31.4 PS (23.1 kW; 31.0 HP) at 1,650 rpm of output power.
- Allis-Chalmers. It is a 2.4 L, 2,442 cm2, (149.0 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline engine. The cylinder bore is 89.0 mm (3.5 in) and the piston stroke is 98.0 mm (3.86 in). The compression ratio rating is 7.5:1. This engine produced 31.4 PS (23.1 kW; 31.0 HP) at 1,650 rpm of output power.
The Allis Chalmers D12 is equipped with manual steering, open operator station, and 47.3 liters (12.5 US gal.; 10.4 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
