The Allis Chalmers D15 Series I is a 2WD row-crop tractor from the D series. This tractor was manufactured by Allis Chalmers in West Allis, Wisconsin, USA from 1960 to 1968, the D15 Series I form 1960 to 1963.
The Allis Chalmers D15 Series I is equipped with one of two engines: a 2.4 L (149.0 cu·in) four-cylinder gasoline /LP-gas engine or a 2.9 L (175.0 cu·in) four-cylinder diesel engine and one of two transmissions: a partial power shift transmission with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears or a shuttle transmission with 4 forward and 4 reverse gears.
The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:
- Allis Chalmers. It is a 2.4 L, 2,441 cm2, (149.0 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline / LP-gas engine with 89.0 mm (3.5 in) of the cylinder bore and 98.0 mm (3.86 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 7.75:1 for the gasoline version and 8.9:1 for the LP-gas version. This engine produced 40.5 PS (29.8 kW; 40.0 HP) at 2,000 rpm of PTO output power.
- Allis Chalmers D-175. It is a 2.9 L, 2,867 cm2, (175.0 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine. The cylinder bore is 90.0 mm (3.54 in) and the piston stroke is 111.0 mm (4.37 in). The compression ratio rating is 15.35:1. This engine produced 40.5 PS (29.8 kW; 40.0 HP) at 2,000 rpm of PTO output power.
The Allis Chalmers D15 is equipped with manual or power (option) steering, expanding shoe brakes, open operator station, and 60.6 liters (16 US gal.; 13.3 Imp. gal) fuel tank for gasoline and diesel fuel and 59.6 liters (15.7 US gal, 13.1 Imp. gal) for LP-gas.
