The Fordson Dexta is a 2WD utility tractor manufactured by Fordson (a part of Ford) in Dagenham, England from 1958 to 1961.
The Fordson Dexta is equipped with one of two engines: a 2.4 L (144.0 cu·in) three-cylinder diesel engine or a 2.2 L (133.5 cu·in) four-cylinder gasoline engine and a gear type transmission with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears.
The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:
- Ford-Perkins F3.144. It is a 2.4 L, 2,360 cm2, (144.0 cu·in) three-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 89.0 mm (3.5 in) of the cylinder bore and 127.0 mm (5 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 16.5:1. This engine produced 32.5 PS (23.9 kW; 32.0 HP) at 2,000 rpm of output power.
- Standard Vanguard. It is a 2.2 L, 2,187 cm2, (133.5 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline engine. The cylinder bore is 87.0 mm (3.43 in) and the piston stroke is 92.0 mm (3.62 in). The compression ratio rating is 6.0:1.
The Fordson Dexta is equipped with manual steering, differential mechanical expanding shoe brakes, an Open operator station, and 31.8 liters (8.4 US gal.; 7 Imp. gal) fuel tank for diesel fuel or 43.1 liters (11.4 US gal, 9.5 Imp. gal) for gasoline fuel.
