The International Harvester 460 is a 2WD utility tractor manufactured by International Harvester from 1958 to 1963.
The International Harvester 460 is equipped with one of two engines: a 3.6 L (221.0 cu·in) six-cylinder gasoline/LP-gas engine or a 3.9 L (236.0 cu·in) six-cylinder diesel engine and one of three transmissions: a sliding gear transmission with 5 forward and 1 reverse gear, transmission with 10 forward and 2 reverse gears or transmission with 5 forward and 5 reverse gears.
The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:
- International Harvester C-221. It is a 3.6 L, 3,621 cm2, (221.0 cu·in) six-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline/LP-gas engine with 90.0 mm (3.54 in) of the cylinder bore and 94.0 mm (3.7 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 7.2:1 for gasoline version or 8.75:1 for LP-gas version. This engine produced 61.9 PS (45.5 kW; 61.0 HP) at 1,800 rpm of output power.
- International Harvester D-236. It is a 3.9 L, 3,867 cm2, (236.0 cu·in) six-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine. The cylinder bore is 94.0 mm (3.7 in) and the piston stroke is 94.0 mm (3.7 in). This engine produced 61.9 PS (45.5 kW; 61.0 HP) at 1,800 rpm of output power.
The IH 460 is equipped with manual or hydrostatic power (option) steering, independent mechanical disc brakes, open operator station, and 87.1 liters (23.0 US gal, 19.2 Imp. gal) fuel tank for gasoline and diesel fuel or 100.7 liters (26.6 US gal, 22.2 Imp. gal)
for LP-gas.
