I have a 1986 John Deere 330 Lawn Tractor that I just purchased, and I am trying to change out all of the fluids. Looking at the technical manual that I was able to find it shows a gear box at the rear end of the Yanmar engine and I was wondering if you could tell me is that a common sump with the engine oil or do I have to use gear oil for that sump? There is a cap for that part of the engine lower rear left hand side of the engine. Does this take the GL5 85-140 gear case oil if this is a separate sump from the engine?
