The John Deere 4200 is a 2WD/4WD compact utility tractor from the 4000 Compact series. This tractor was manufactured by John Deere in Augusta, Georgia, USA from 1998 to 2001. The John Deere 4200 is equipped with a 1.2 L three-cylinder diesel engine and one of two transmissions: partially synchronized (SyncShift) transmission with 9 forward and 3 reverse gears or hydrostatic transmission with infinite (3-range) forward and reverse gears.
The JD 4200 compact utility tractor used the Yanmar 3TNE78A engine. It is a 1.2 L, 1,204 cm2, (73.5 cu·in) three-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 78.0 mm (3.07 in) of the cylinder bore and 84.0 mm (3.31 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 18.0:1. This engine produced 26.7 PS (19.6 kW; 26.3 HP) of maximum output power.
