The John Deere 4400 is a 4WD compact utility tractor from the 4000 Compact series. This tractor was manufactured by the John Deere in Augusta, Georgia, USA from 1998 to 2001. The John Deere 4400 tractor is equipped with a 1.6 L three-cylinder diesel engine and one of two transmissions: partially synchronized transmission with 12 forward and 12 reverse gears or hydrostatic transmission with infinite (3-range) forward and reverse.
The John Deere 4400 compact utility tractor used the Yanmar 3TNE88 engine. It is a 1.6 L, 1624 cm2, (99.1 cu·in) three-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 88.0 mm (3.46 in) of the cylinder bore and 90.0 mm (3.54 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 18.0:1. This engine produced 36.2 PS (26.6 kW; 35.7 HP) at 2,700 rpm of maximum output power.
