The John Deere 4600 is a 2WD or 4WD compact utility tractor from the 4000 compact series. This tractor was manufactured by John Deere in Augusta, Georgia, USA from 1999 to 2003. The John Deere 4600 is equipped with a 2.0 L (121.0 cu·in) four-cylinder diesel engine and one of three transmissions: an unsynchronized gear transmission with 9 forward and 3 reverse gears, hydrostatic transmission with infinite (three-range) forward and reverse gears or a partially synchronized power shuttle transmission with 12 forward and 12 reverse gears (24 forward and 24 reverse gears with creeper).
The JD 4600 compact utility tractor used the Yanmar 4TNE84 engine. It is a 2.0 L, 1,983 cm2, (121.0 cu·in) four-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 84.0 mm (3.31 in) of the cylinder bore and 90.0 mm (3.54 in) of the piston stroke.
