The John Deere 5055E is a 2WD or 4WD utility tractor from the 5E series. This tractor has benn manufactured by John Deere in Pune, Maharashtra, India since 2008. This third version has been manufactured since 2015. The JD 5055E is equipped with a 2.9 L (179.0 cu·in) three-cylinder diesel engine and one of two transmissions: a partially synchronized transmission with 9 forward and 3 reverse gears and dry disc clutch or a power shuttle transmission with 12 forward and 12 reverse gears and wet disc clutch.

The John Deere 5055E is equipped with power steering, hydraulic wet disc brakes, two-post foldable ROPS or Cab (optional), and 68.1 liters (18 US gal.; 15 Imp. gal) fuel tank for the ROPS version or 82.1 liters (21.7 US gal, 18.1 Imp. gal) for the cab version. This tractor could be equipped with the John Deere 512 or John Deere H240 MSL loader.
