The John Deere X748 is a 4WD lawn and garden tractor from the X700 series. This tractor was manufactured by John Deere in Horicon, Wisconsin, USA from 2006 to 2012.
The John Deere X748 used with one of two engines: a 1.1 L (68.1 cu·in) three-cylinder diesel engine or a 0.9 L (55.2 cu·in) three-cylinder diesel engine and a shaft-driven hydrostatic transmission with infinite forward and reverse gears.
The JD X748 is equipped with hydrostatic power steering, wet disc brakes, open operator station, and 24.6 liters (6.5 US gal.; 5.4 Imp. gal) fuel tank.
The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:
- Yanmar 3TNV76 (2006-2010). It is a 1.1 L, 1,116 cm2, (68.1 cu·in) three-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 74.0 mm (2.91 in) of the cylinder bore and 82.0 mm (3.23 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 23.4:1. This engine produced 24.3 PS (17.9 kW; 24.0 HP) of output power.
- Yanmar 3TNM72 (2011-2012). It is a 0.9 L, 904 cm2, (55.2 cu·in) three-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine. The cylinder bore is 72.0 mm (2.83 in) and the piston stroke is 74.0 mm (2.91 in). The compression ratio rating is 23.4:1. This engine produced 24.3 PS (17.9 kW; 24.0 HP) of output power.
