The Oliver 1600 Series A is a 2WD row-crop tractor from the 4-Digit series. This tractor was manufactured by Oliver in Charles City, Iowa, USA from 1962 to 1963.
The Oliver 1600 Series A is equipped with one of two engines: a 4.3 L (265.0 cu·in) six-cylinder diesel engine or a 3.8 L (231.0 cu·in) six-cylinder gasoline/LP-gas engine and one of two transmissions: a gear type transmission with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears and dry disc clutch or a partial power shift transmission with 12 forward and 4 reverse gears and dry disc clutch.
The tractor could be equipped with the following engines:
- Waukesha-Oliver. It is a 4.3 L, 4,343 cm2, (265.0 cu·in) six-cylinder natural aspirated diesel engine with 95.0 mm (3.74 in) of the cylinder bore and 102.0 mm (4.02 in) of the piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 16.25:1.
- Waukesha-Oliver. It is a 3.8 L, 3,785 cm2, (231.0 cu·in) six-cylinder natural aspirated gasoline/LP-gas engine. The cylinder bore is 89.0 mm (3.5 in) and the piston stroke is 102.0 mm (4.02 in). The compression ratio rating is 8.5:1 for gasoline version or 9.0:1 for LP-gas version. The gasoline version produced 60.8 PS (44.7 kW; 60 HP) of PTO output power and LP-gas version 56.8 PS (41.8 KW; 56.0 HP) of PTO output power.
The Oliver 1600 A is equipped with manual or power-assist (optional) steering, differential mechanical dry disc brakes, and open operator station.
Tractor variants:
